Life in the region is not just about buildings, but above all about the people who put their hearts into it. That is why we have been actively involved for several years in supporting projects that bring about concrete changes in Turni nad Bodvou, Dvorníky-Včeláre, and the surrounding villages. Our grant program helps where funding is often lacking – in the development of schools, sports clubs, nature conservation, and the restoration of cultural monuments. This year, we added new initiatives to those already supported, which improve life in the community. We believe that business only makes sense if it also benefits the surrounding area.
History and nature for future generations: In Turni nad Bodvou, a memorial with a double cross will be restored, which is not only a place of remembrance but also a center for environmental and community activities for children.
Education and ecology: A Hungarian-language elementary school received support for green measures – rainwater retention, planting trees, herbs, and flowers. Children learn that nature must be cared for not only in textbooks, but also with their own hands.
Sports and safety: The children’s fire brigade in Dvorniki-Včeláre has new sports hoses, and footballers and athletes from the Sports Club can train in better conditions, with new equipment and high-quality facilities. The Taekwon-do club is investing in a camera system that will ensure fair decision-making and better training for referees.
Modern education: The youngest children at the Zajko-Uško nursery school will soon enjoy a new interactive whiteboard, which will open the door to the world of digital education.
Cultural heritage: Thanks to the Castrum Thorna project, students can participate in archaeological research at Turňa Castle, and a lapidarium with information panels and benches will be created, which will enliven the public space and bring history closer to future generations.
“When you walk through a place that was overgrown not long ago and today children are planting herbs there, or when someone from the village tells you that thanks to the support they were able to repair a memorial that their grandparents still remember, then you know it makes sense. That there are real people behind the project, their efforts and pride in what they have achieved together,” says Aleksandar Milošević, plant manager.
